PAGS 2016 Fall Division Placements

The initial placements for the 2016 fall season are now available.  As always, the primary criterion is to find the appropriate level of play for all teams.  In the Charlotte Moran Conference we also attempted to consider geography in addition to competitive level when possible.

The 2016 fall season is the first under the new USSF birth year initiative.  As such, in many it was difficult for teams to determine the appropriate level of play to request.  Therefore, PAGS did everything possible to place teams in the divisions they requested.  For the regular season in the Premier Conference we moved 5 teams to a division other than the one they requested.  In the Charlotte Moran Conference we did not move any teams.  At the U16 through U19 age groups we were forced to move several teams into divisions comprised of multiple age groups in order to have enough teams in the division.  U16, U17, U18, and U19 teams requesting the top two divisions were combined to create a single 6 team division comprised of 3 U16 teams, 1 U17 team, 1 U18 team, and 1 U19 team.  Likewise, U16, U17, U18, and U19 teams requesting middle divisions (D6,D7) were combined to create a single 6 team division comprised of 3 U16 teams, 1 U17 team, 1 U18 team, and 1 U19 team.

In the short season it was necessary to move 4 U15 teams to U16 due to the need to maintain competitive levels and to try to keep teams from the same club in different divisions.

Teams will have until 6:00 pm EDT on Sunday, 6/12/16, to appeal their placement.  All appeals must be reviewed by and forwarded to PAGS by the Club Delegate.  Appeals received directly from coaches/managers will NOT be considered.  Appeals should only state matters of fact, such as head to head scores or tournament results, opinions will not be considered. If a team failed to provide any history or other required information on their application PAGS reserves the right to deny their appeal.

The PAGS Appeals Committee will meet on 6/15/16 and the final divisional placement will be released on 6/16/16.  Teams will then have until 6:00 pm EDT on 6/18/16 without forfeiting the entire application fee.  PAGS will retain $100 of the application fee.  Teams that withdraw after 6/18/16 will forfeit the entire application fee.
